Travel Well
A list of travel essentials to make long-haul trips a little more comfortable and enjoyable. After a quick trip to Paris with friends, I rounded up what I packed and loved, plus a few things I found myself wishing I had and researched after the trip.
This is the neck pillow I wish I’d had on the flight. I went down a rabbit hole looking for something more supportive than the typical airport travel pillow, and this one kept coming up.
It has a memory-foam core that wraps around the neck with an adjustable closure, plus a removable, machine-washable cover. It also compresses down by about 60% into its travel bag, which is important because I do not want a giant neck pillow taking over my carry-on.
Bombas Travel Compression Knee High Socks
Compression socks can be helpful on long flights because sitting still for hours slows blood flow in the legs and can cause fluid to pool in the feet and ankles. These have medium 15–20 mmHg graduated compression, with the most compression at the ankle and less as it moves up the leg. They’re specifically designed for travel and long flights and made with a cotton and Merino wool blend that helps with temperature regulation.
Sleepcrown Traveler Pillow with Silk Case
My friend brought her Sleepcrown to Paris, and after seeing it in action, I decided I needed one for myself. The Sleepcrown goes over your eyes and ears, using gentle pressure while helping block light and noise. It’s soft and flexible rather than structured for neck support, which is why it's best paired with a true neck pillow on a long flight.
Right now it's sold out, but they have a new drop coming on 10/13 at 9am Central time.
The earplugs airlines provide always hurt my ears after a while and usually end up falling out. Loop Dream is specifically designed for sleep, with a low-profile, soft silicone shape that works even for side sleepers like me. It comes with a variety of different sized ear tips to choose from so you can get a perfect fit.
Ritual Sleep BioSeries Melatonin
I don’t take melatonin regularly, but I like having it for travel across time zones to help my body adjust. Ritual’s formula contains 5 mg of melatonin split between instant and extended-release layers, designed to release throughout the night and taper toward morning.
This is one I’d save specifically for travel or those nights when my internal clock is out of whack.
I originally bought this little sound machine when my kids were babies, and now I can't travel without it. I always set it on white noise. It’s tiny, rechargeable and easy to throw in a suitcase, but it makes such a difference when you’re trying to sleep through noises around you or in a different sleep environment.

I forgot my ZIIP on my trip and regretted it. It’s one of those skincare tools I really notice a difference without, especially when I’m sleep deprived or after a long flight when my face feels puffy, tired and a little dull. I like using it for a quick facial reset to help depuff and make my skin look more lifted and refreshed.

Plane air dries out my hands, so a good hand cream is always in my bag. Nopalera’s Cactus Hand Cream is travel-friendly, fast-absorbing and made with prickly pear oil, sweet almond oil and other hydrating ingredients to help keep hands soft without feeling greasy.
All of these scents are incredible. The 1.5-ounce tube is also the perfect size to keep in a purse or carry-on.
Beis The Large Check-In Roller
If you’re an overpacker like me, this chic suitcase is hard to beat. My friend had this on our trip to Paris and was amazed by how much she packed into it.
There’s so much space inside plus it has a two-inch expander and built-in compression straps to fit everything in. One of its best features for international travel is the built-in weight indicator, which gives you a heads-up before you get to the airport with an overweight bag.
Biom Hand Sanitizing Wipes Travel Packs
I always want sanitizing wipes within reach when I travel for the plane, airport and all the moments when washing your hands isn’t an option.
Biom’s are made with 65% plant-derived alcohol and aloe and the brand claims they kill 99.9% of germs on hands without leaving that sticky, dried-out feeling. They're gentle on skin, safe for kids, and tough enough for high-touch surfaces.
I like to bring an empty stainless steel water bottle through security and fill it before I get on the plane. Staying hydrated is one of the simplest things I can control when traveling, and having a large 32oz bottle with me makes it much easier than relying on plastic water bottles or the tiny cups of water they hand out in-flight.

I always pack protein when I travel because airport and airplane food can be so unpredictable. Prima bars have 21 grams of protein from grass-fed bovine collagen peptides and grass-fed whey protein, along with ingredients like organic raw honey and grass-fed beef tallow. They’re also made without seed oils or artificial sweeteners.
