Everyday Upgrades

Living well starts with small, consistent shifts that add up over time. Here are a few thoughtful upgrades we’ve made to the products we use every day — simple swaps that better support our health and overall well-being.

1. Our Place Large Wonder Oven

A recent kitchen swap that we use multiple times a day. This non-toxic oven replaced both my air fryer and toaster oven. It bakes, fries, roasts, toasts, broils and reheats. Plus, it has a steam feature for better texture and moisture that can even revive stale bread.

Most traditional air fryers use Teflon (PTFE) nonstick coatings which can release chemicals at high-heat so we felt like this was a worthwhile upgrade and investment for our family. We have the largest size (it’s pretty spacious). If you’re tight on counter space, the smaller one may be a better fit, but I haven’t tried it.

2. Bulletproof Original Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee

The coffee we've been drinking for years—Bulletproof tests for mold toxins, heavy metals, and other contaminants that can be present in lower-quality beans due to poor growing, storage, or processing conditions. Coffee is something we drink every single day so quality and sourcing matter to us. There are many other high-quality coffee brands out there—this is just the one that we’ve loved over the years and feel good about drinking every day.

3. Primally Pure Charcoal Deodorant

One of the easiest clean beauty swaps I made last year was switching to this non-toxic deodorant—that actually works. Charcoal helps absorb odor while avoiding aluminum and synthetic fragrance. I’ve tried so many — this is the one! It’s free of aluminum, parabens, fragrance, triclosan, talc, and propylene glycol, and formulated with a small amount of baking soda that keeps me smelling fresh. If you have sensitive skin, there’s also a baking soda–free version, but I haven’t personally tried that one.

4. Ivey Glow Active Body Oil

My newest favorite everyday skincare product — this clean, nourishing body oil instantly hydrates, protects, brightens, and firms without any synthetic fragrance. It’s packed with antioxidant-rich plant oils and vitamin C to help improve skin texture and promote a more even tone. It also smells amazing—it’s made with real vanilla bean and orange blossom essential oils. Whenever I visit my parents in Palm Beach, I love to stop by Ivey’s store, Living With Ivey, and stock up on her thoughtfully curated clean products.

5. Caraway Non-stick Ceramic Cookware Set

A few years ago, I swapped out our traditional non-stick cookware (made with Teflon) for stainless steel and this ceramic set from Caraway. For everyday cooking, I feel better about using materials like stainless steel and ceramic.

This ceramic set isn’t cheap, but for us, it’s felt worth the investment. It’s naturally non-stick and easy to clean. Although, it can scratch if you’re not careful so using the right utensils and care really matter. For long-term durability, stainless steel is a great pick that won’t scratch and lasts forever—however, food sticks easily and it does requires more effort to clean. Both, are good options from Caraway.

6. If You Care Parchment Baking Paper

A simple, cleaner upgrade for everyday cooking and baking — swapping to unbleached parchment paper instead of aluminum foil or plastic wrap for cooking and storing food. Aluminum can transfer into food at high heat or when it comes into contact with acidic or salty ingredients. This parchment paper is coated with food-grade silicone, unlike some brands that use Quilon (which contains chromium compounds). It’s unbleached, chlorine-free, compostable, and made from heavy-duty, greaseproof, nonstick paper.

7. Molly’s Suds Super Powder Laundry Detergent

Swapping to this clean, fragrance-free detergent was another easy everyday upgrade for our family. Our clothes sit against our skin all day so using a clean detergent like this one felt like a good way to reduce unnecessary chemical exposure.

It uses powerful plant-based enzymes to break down stains and odors while avoiding harsh synthetics found in most conventional detergents — like synthetic fragrances, dyes, optical brighteners, 1,4-dioxane, phosphates, parabens, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. There’s less residue left on clothes and a lower risk of irritation for sensitive skin. For our athletic wear or anything smelly, I add a splash of distilled white vinegar to the wash cycle to effectively eliminate odors.

8. Pura Kiki Baby Bottle and Sip Cup

A stainless steel, multi-use baby bottle, sippy cup, and water bottle all in one—plastic-free, made from medical-grade stainless steel with interchangeable medical-grade silicone sip and straw spouts. I bought this for my daughter when she transitioned to a sippy cup and she still uses it daily. I wish I had known about this earlier when my kids were drinking from bottles, multiple times a day.

9. Spindrift Sparkling Water, Ultimate Variety Pack 12-Flavor

One of our favorite sparkling water brands — made with real fruit juice, no artificial sweeteners, and no vague “natural flavors”—a term that isn’t fully transparent about what’s inside. Spindrift tastes more authentic and it has also tested lower for heavy metals compared to other popular brands. Try this 12-flavor variety pack to find your favorite.

10. Malk Vanilla Almond Milk

My favorite almond milk I've been drinking for years. Made of only organic almonds, vanilla, filtered water, and a pinch of salt—no gellan or xantham gums, seed oils, carrageenan, or added sugars.

It’s naturally low in carbs and doesn’t spike blood sugar like many oat milks can. I also prefer almond over oat milk because most conventional oats are sprayed with glyphosate (an herbicide) and most oat milks have added oils and stabilizers.

11. Blueland Dishwasher Detergent Tablets

A few years ago I replaced my PVA-wrapped dishwasher pods with these 100% plastic-free tablets. They’re healthier, effective and just as easy to use. Place them directly in the bottom of your dishwasher — NOT in the detergent tray — for the best results. I use one or two depending on the size and soil level of the load.
