Everyday Upgrades
Living well doesn't require an overhaul. Most of the time, it's not about doing more. It's about swapping out one thing at a time for something a little cleaner, better quality, or more thoughtfully sourced. Little swaps add up over time. Finish using what you have and then maybe consider upgrading when you run out of a product you could improve on. Some months I'm adding something new to my routine. Other months I'm just maintaining what already works.
This edit is meant to inspire, not pressure. It's a curated list of products and resources I've vetted and trust in case you're looking for an alternative to something you're already using every day. From seafood to cooking oil, stain remover to parfum, I've got you covered. Here are some everyday upgrades I'm loving right now.
My favorite ceramic pans for everyday cooking, and a healthier swap for traditional nonstick cookware, which is typically coated in PTFE (Teflon) that can break down and release harmful fumes at high heat and flake into your food as it wears. I now have both the 10.5" and 12" sizes. It's more durable than my Caraway cookware, which I love too, but they do scratch and aren't as durable over the years. I've had my Always Pans for months, use them regularly, and they still look brand new.
My new obsession. Seatopia delivers some of the most nutrient-dense, cleanest seafood on the planet straight to your door. Seafood is a superfood. The problem is our oceans are polluted, and most farm-raised fish is held to shockingly low standards. Wild-caught isn't automatically safer either, since a lot of it carries parasites. Seatopia solves for both. They're the only seafood company that tests every single order to guarantee it's omega-rich, mercury-safe, and free from detectable microplastics, working with artisan aquaculture farms around the world that constantly monitor water quality and use cleaner, more innovative feeds.
We cook about 90% of our meals at home, and we love seafood and sushi, so a subscription like this is worth it to us. We still love to go out for sushi at our favorite spots and don't stress about what's in it, but at home, where we're eating seafood every week, Seatopia gives us peace of mind. It's nutrient-dense, sushi-grade, and free of plastics and heavy metals.

Algae Cooking Club The Club Bundle
My new favorite cooking oils for high-heat cooking. Coconut oil and EVOO aren't built for high heat, and refined seed oils like canola, soybean, and vegetable oil are heavily processed and oxidize when heated, so these are a better everyday swap. Avocado oil is another good option, but with the recent UC Davis study showing a lot of avocado oils on shelves aren't actually pure, I'm being more careful about which brands I trust for now.
This bundle includes their Algae Oil, which is light and buttery, rich in omega-9s, and over 75% lower in saturated fat than olive or avocado oil. Their Gochugaru Chili Oil blends the algae oil with authentic Korean chilies and toasted spices for rich, layered heat, and their Shiitake Mushroom Oil blends it with real shiitakes, wakame, red miso, black garlic, and Urfa chili for deep umami, no artificial flavoring in either.
Salad dressings made with 100% olive oil and simple, high-quality ingredients. No seed oils, refined sugar, gums, preservatives, or starches, and they come in a glass bottle, not plastic. I have and love their Sesame Tahini, Green Goddess, and Apple Cider Vinaigrette. I slather these on my salads when I don't want to make my own dressing, and I also use them as dips and marinades.
Because it's made with refined olive oil rather than extra-virgin, it's safe to use as a marinade for higher-heat cooking. Refined olive oil is more processed than EVOO and has fewer polyphenols and antioxidants, but it's still good fat, and a much better everyday choice than the heavily refined seed-oil blends found in most bottled dressings, which can be more inflammatory.

Thrive Market Organic Ketchup & Mustard
Most traditional condiments are hiding more than you think. Standard ketchup, mustard, and BBQ sauce are often loaded with high-fructose corn syrup, added sugar, artificial food dyes, and preservatives to get that bright color, familiar flavor, and shelf-stable texture. I order many of our everyday condiments and pantry items from the Thrive brand at Thrive Market. Their condiments are a clear step up from what's in most pantries.

W&P Sustainable Kitchen 14-Piece Food Storage Set
This glass and food-grade silicone storage set is an easy way to transition away from plastic food storage, which can leach microplastics and chemicals like BPA into your food, especially when it's reheated or holding something hot, acidic, or fatty. The set includes durable glass containers, two lidded bowls, three stretchy silicone stasher bags, six leakproof cling lids for leftovers, and three clear stretch wraps for cheese, cut avocado, and more.
A laundry staple I keep on hand for tough stains, odors, and whites, in place of conventional bleach-based stain removers, which rely on harsh chlorine, ammonia, and synthetic fragrance that can irritate skin and lungs. It's a simple, human-safe, fragrance-free oxygen cleaner that brightens and lifts stains just as effectively. We use it on our clothes and our children's clothes daily, so what's actually in a stain remover and whitener matters to me.
We've swapped to Branch Basics for all household cleaning products as well. It's not only safer, it's also effective and saves you money rather than having to buy separate cleaning products.

Canopy x Weezie Baby Bath Tub Filter
A recent everyday upgrade to my children’s bath tub water. Unfiltered tap water usually carries chlorine and other disinfection byproducts that can dry out and irritate children's skin, so this collaboration between Weezie, my favorite towel company, and Canopy, a water filtration company, was a no-brainer. It's an easy-install, BPA-free silicone filter that reduces chlorine and irritants for gentler baths. It doubles as a spout cover and temperature indicator too.
Living with Ivey The Huile de Parfum Set
I'm already a huge fan of Ivey's body oils, but I can't get enough of her parfum. It's a clean alternative to conventional fragrance, which can legally hide dozens of undisclosed synthetic chemicals, some of them hormone disruptors, under the single word "fragrance" on a label. This one is luxurious and long-lasting, light, breezy, and floral, with no endocrine-disrupting fragrance chemicals. I love the way I smell when I wear it.
Pact Organic Lace Waist Thong 3-Pack
I've replaced most of my old Cosabella and Hanky Panky thongs with these soft, breathable, but still sexy GOTS-certified organic cotton thongs, a gentler option than conventionally grown cotton, which is one of the most heavily sprayed crops around and can leave pesticide residue on fabric worn against the skin all day. They're comfortable enough for everyday wear, with a delicate lace waistband and zero lines.
When it comes to wellness, I draw the line at my closet. I love fashion, and I'm not willing to give up my favorite pieces or overhaul my closet over fabric content. Same goes for my workout gear. I'd love for everything to be organic and sustainable, but I still reach for sweat-wicking and compression spandex because it keeps me dry and comfortable. Right now, I'm starting with the pieces touching my most intimate parts every day, my everyday lingerie. These are great, and I'll probably get their bralette too.
